The Faculty of Philosophy and Cognitive Science was established in 2019 and became a full faculty in October 2023. We emerged from the Faculty of History and Sociology, combining the university's decades-long philosophical traditions with new directions in mind and cognition research.
Our researchers address classical questions of philosophy and ethics, contemporary problems of state and society, and how the mind works. Many faculty members are active in public debates as television program authors, experts, essayists, and popular science communicators. We hold the right to award doctoral degrees in humanities (philosophy).
We combine decades of philosophical tradition with cutting-edge research in cognitive science. Our small faculty means direct access to researchers, discussion-based teaching, and real opportunities to contribute to ongoing projects.
